NEW YORK, NY, November 1, 2006 -- The American Bible Society today announced the second annual "24 Hours With the Bible" program is scheduled to air in the greater New York and Miami metropolitan areas on November 3rd and November 17th, respectively.

The "24 Hours With the Bible" radio broadcasts are designed to bring the Word of God to life and help promote Bible literacy within the Latino community. Included in the uninterrupted 24 hour program are dramatized recordings of the New Testament, listener call-in segments and inspirational music selections.

"24 Hours With the Bible" New York will broadcast on Radio Vision Cristiana's affiliate station WWRV-AM 1380 in Patterson, NJ, beginning at 3 p.m. on Friday, November 3rd and will continue, uninterrupted, until 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 4th.

"24 Hours With the Bible" Miami will broadcast on Radio Genesis 90.9 FM beginning at 3 p.m. on Friday, November 17th and will conclude at 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 18th.

The first "24 Hours With the Bible" event, conducted in November 2005, was an overwhelming success that touched Latino communities not only in the U.S., but worldwide as the program was also broadcast via the Internet. More than 700 calls were placed to the host radio stations and nearly four thousand copies of Scripture distributed.

"Our goal is to build upon the past success and popularity of '24 Hours With the Bible' to touch and transform even more lives with God's Word," said Karina Lucero, director of programs, Hispanic/Latino Ministries, American Bible Society. "We are proud to be able to present the Bible in a unique format and allow people of all faiths and cultures the opportunity to embrace Biblical messages and apply them to their day-to-day lives."

Founded in 1816 and headquartered in New York City, the mission of the American Bible Society is to make the Bible available to every person in a language and format each can understand and afford, so that all people may experience its life-changing message.
